During Zohran Mamdani's successful campaign for mayor of New York City we asked you to volunteer for his campaign rather than donate. His campaign easily maxed out on donations, which were matched 8-to-1 by the City.

Now that funding is gone, Zohran is not yet mayor, and the usual solution of asking corporate oligarchs to fund the transition is not an option.

If Mamdani is going to transform business-as-usual, tax the powerful, make childcare and buses free, and freeze the rent, he's going to need to have a huge staff firing on all cylinders on day 1 in January.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation -- split evenly between Zohran Kwame Mamdani's Transition and RootsAction -- will go through immediately. Do not donate if you do business with the City of New York.

To pay staff during this transition, to review 50,000 job applications, and to work out approaches to transitioning the City of New York to an affordable place to live, Zohran needs us to fund the transition.

And RootsAction can only mobilize public support for progressive change with your help.

We do not want the most successful election for progressive change in recent years to fail to achieve progressive change.  A precedent, for good or ill, is being set here.
