What your Congress Member doesn't know
Hi Friends,
These are days in which foreign policy needs to be front and center, including its impact on the budget and on domestic policy. Yet voters are often told that candidates for the U.S. Congress lack any foreign policy platform because they don’t know enough about the topic and don’t plan to focus on it. Even our current Congress Members lack basic knowledge.
We've just published a new edition of our Foreign Policy Primer, available free online here.
Please share it with everyone you think might appreciate the educational value. And please especially share it with new candidates for Congress who might use it to develop their campaign platforms.
We've also created, on the same page, a way for you to easily email your Senators and Representatives a link to the Primer.

Presidents and congressional leaders often maintain that U.S. foreign policy is aimed at furthering peace, stability, human rights and democracy. Furthering such goals would be widely popular with the U.S. public. But, as this primer shows, U.S. foreign policy typically undermines those noble goals and diverts billions (over half the discretionary budget that Congress funds each year) from pressing human and environmental needs — while promoting war, weapons proliferation, and corporate interests.
