Don't know if you've noticed, but we spend a great deal of time pressuring the United States Congress to do what the majority of the U.S. public, the rule of law, and basic human decency demand -- and Congress spends a great deal of time refusing.

One way to change what Congress does is to change who's in Congress. With most districts gerrymandered, we already know the political party of the candidate who will be elected in November. So the big question is who will win the Democratic primaries in Democratic districts coming soon in a few weeks: will it be people ready to make the needed changes?

Illinois and North Carolina are holding their primaries  early -- in March -- and there are two candidates with a great chance of winning who would make a tremendous difference in Congress.

One is Nida Allam in NC-04, and the other Junaid Ahmed in IL-08. Nida is running against an uninspiring incumbent whom she's almost beaten before, and Junaid is running for an open seat.

The same cannot be said of their opponents. The incumbent whom Nina Allam is challenging has taken $2.8 million from AIPAC since her first election and been backed by Crypto, AI, Big Oil, and weapons manufacturers, and corporations doing business with ICE.
