Democratic Leaders Are Really Trying
Hi Friends,
Ha! Ha! April Fools! Really trying is not in Senator Schumer's and Representative Jeffries' playbook.
The Democratic "leaders" in Congress delayed a war powers vote until the war on Iran could get started, and then delayed another one until Congress could go on break -- even as Trump threatened to start a ground invasion.1 Both Schumer and Jeffries are well-funded allies of the right-wing AIPAC lobby.
They've long put major efforts into avoiding shutting down ICE, demanding instead minor restrictions on ICE's behavior -- even as Trump sends ICE into new areas, such as airports.2
The problem is not just that they are weak or cowardly or incompetent. These leaders seem to think that keeping unpopular catastrophes going is good for them as long as those catastrophes bear Trump's name.
Show them they are wrong -- Email your Democratic Representative and/or Senators!

When RootsAction initiated a call for Schumer and Jeffries to step aside, it seemed a quixotic endeavor.3 Five days later, Axios reported momentum building.4 Then the Wall Street Journal reported that Senate Democrats are working to get Schumer to step aside.5
Let's keep the momentum building!
