Iran and what we can do now

Invitation to an online event and planning for a picket line at your Congress member's local office.

Hi Friends,

RootsAction has been working with partners nationwide to support grassroots efforts and continue pushing politicians to oppose and take action against Trump’s unlawful war with Iran. On Tuesday, April 7 at 5:30 PM PT / 7:30 PM CT / 8:30 PM ET, we will bring together policy experts and partner organizations to discuss the organizing taking place across the country, key policy developments in Washington, D.C., and how we can take meaningful action together. We'll help each other plan for the actions that begin on April 10 (see below).

RSVP for the call HERE.

This is an opportunity to learn, connect, and strengthen our collective efforts for peace, together with:

  • Hanieh Jodat - RootsAction and Defuse Nuclear War
  • Kevin Martin - Peace Action
  • Sina Azodi - Assistant Professor of Middle East Politics, George Washington University
  • Emma Claire Foley - RootsAction and Defuse Nuclear War

RootsAction and Defuse Nuclear War are organizing a weekend of actions April 10-12 near the end of the upcoming Congressional recess. You’re invited to picket an in-district office of your member of Congress to demand no more funding for war, and to insist that lawmakers resist the administration’s illegal military assault on Iran.

We’re overwhelmed and heartened by the amount of energy and conviction Defuse Nuclear War activists are demonstrating as these unconscionable attacks continue. While they’re at home in their districts, it’s essential to continue to show our elected leaders that we will not tolerate another pointless, destructive war in our name.

Please sign up here, or reply to this email, if you’re able to participate in our weekend of action.

A picket in Philadelphia by RootsAction and many allies on March 21.

This work is only possible with your financial support. Please chip in $12 now.

Thanks for all you do!

In Solidarity,
The RootsAction Team
