Basic human needs have been defunded, while billionaires have paid a lower effective tax rate than working-class people. The federal government has only made matters worse. States can act.

Massachusetts took action and now taxes by a mere 4% income over $1 million, raising $2.2 billion a year, without people fleeing, unemployment soaring, the economy collapsing, or other dire predictions coming true.

Now Washington State has listened and created a tax of 9.9% on income above $1 million, expected to bring in $3 billion to $4 billion a year.
