We’re in a moment of nuclear backsliding, when many of the most powerful people in the world have convinced themselves that nuclear weapons are an inevitable part of human life on earth for the foreseeable future. The U.S. attacks on Iran, and the ongoing war in Ukraine, show a total lack of concern for the many risks of conflict between nuclear-armed countries by the most powerful among them. We cannot accept this as normal.
