Mai is a grassroots progressive running in the Democratic primary in California's 7th Congressional District. She is the daughter of Hmong refugees and has been a mainstay of progressive politics in Sacramento since she was first elected to the City Council. As a war refugee herself, Mai will vote to end our endless wars and has already committed to blocking more bombs for Israel once she’s in Congress.

In Congress, Mai will work to abolish ICE, be a strong advocate for improved Medicare for All to guarantee healthcare as a right for every American, lead efforts to build affordable housing for the working families getting priced out of Sacramento, and champion a Federal Renters' Bill of Rights to ensure that "just cause" eviction protections and fair rent standards aren't just local luxuries, but a national standard. Mai will vote to make billionaires pay their fair share and close corporate loopholes so we can invest that money back into the communities that need it.
