Right now, there are over 3,000 new data centers planned across the United States to feed the data needs of AI, and the greed of Big Tech conglomerates.

The burdens these projects place on people and the environment --disastrous climate effects, unsustainable water use, constant noise, and lavish tax breaks, all protected by corporate secrecy -- are sparking growing public outrage across the country.

The tech companies behind these projects and their powerful political supporters know this, and they’re working hard to deflect that anger: by hiding their identities, circumventing democratic decision-making, and rebranding objections to these monstrous wastes of resources as terrorism.

But when we stand up to them, we win. Cities like Caledonia, Wisconsin and Ypsilanti, Michigan have managed to pause or stop data center projects, and fourteen states are considering banning their development.

At the federal level, Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are introducing a bill to pause new data center projects.
