Tell UK not to prosecute opposing genocide
Here is our petition:
The Court of Appeal in the UK has ruled in support of a law that could send thousands of people to prison for up to 14 years for having simply expressed support for an organization called Palestine Action.
While Palestine Action has engaged in property destruction and vandalism of weapons companies, that is simply not terrorism.
Nor is expressing support for a group's opposition to genocide a form of terrorism. In fact, it is the opposite. Opposing genocide is opposing terrorism.
We people of the world must urge on you what should be too obvious to state: you must not prosecute protesters of genocide as "terrorists" in this Orwellian sense.
You must uphold the rule of law, basic human decency, and the ability of the English language to communicate clear ideas.
Do not prosecute anyone for expressing support for Palestine Action.
Do not prosecute members of Palestine Action for crimes of terrorism that they are honestly not even suspected of.
Instead, prosecute genocidaires under universal jurisdiction.
