Vote No No No No No

Hi Friends,

A "rule" vote to bring the unprecedentedly huge Pentagon spending bill to a vote was thankfully defeated in the House yesterday, as all Democrats voted No and they were joined by 14 Republicans (at least most of whom were voting No out of support for a separate bill promoting voter suppression).

We need to keep up this opposition to any and all procedural votes that would bring a $1.5 trillion military budget to a vote, and to the bill itself if it is eventually voted on.

While this legislation would give Trump an unprecedented $1.5 trillion, the total amount spent on the military and war already includes another $0.7 trillion to $1.3 trillion, as documented in a recent report by the Project on Government Oversight (POGO).

This is enough money to transform all of our lives if put to better use than blowing things up.  Email Congress now!

Squeezed into this already outrageous bill is a measure to create closer links between the U.S. and Israeli militaries, tying U.S. war policies to a government facing charges of genocide, and making it even harder to prevent illegal U.S. weapons shipments to Israel.
