RootsNews: Heating the Planet for Data Centers and Wars

Hi Friends,

ATTIAH and AISHA: A couple of successes worth noting

When the Washington Post fired its Global Opinion editor Karen Attiah in September 2025 because of a social media post that accurately quoted several of Charlie Kirk's bigoted comments, the RootsAction Education Fund loudly protested her termination. In a major First Amendment victory 11 months later, an arbitrator has ruled that it was a wrongful firing and ordered the Post to reinstate Attiah with full backpay and benefits.

In California's 14 Congressional district, they've virtually finished counting the votes in a special election, and the winner — overcoming millions of AIPAC-linked dollars spent to defeat her — is progressive Aisha Wahab, the candidate RootsAction supported.

EARTHLY PRIORITIES

We're cooking this planet's climate for things most of us never wanted, like data centers and wars. Is there another way? There always is.

New York State, the Cherokee Nation, and Pennsylvania have stopped the data centers. We need to stop them everywhere, as well as the wars that big tech profits from.
